The existing 60-year-old Halls River Bridge is being replaced!
The new 57-foot wide bridge will be made of state of the art rust-resistant materials and built in the same location as the previous 30-foot wide bridge.
The new wider bridge will feature a 12-foot travel lane in each direction, eight-foot shoulders, and five-foot sidewalks.
The new bridge is being built in phases.
Traffic is now using half of the new bridge and shoulder in a temporary two-way configuration while the second half of the new bridge is built.
Construction activities are occurring during the day Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.and at night when necessary.
Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone. Access to driveways and side streets are being maintained.
The $7.5 million project is expected to finish in the Spring 2019.
