The Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor, D.A.B. Constructors, Inc., is repaving approximately 3.5 miles of US 19 (Commercial Way) between Toucan Trail and Cortez Boulevard (SR 50) in Hernando County.

Other improvements include installing a new traffic signal at Toucan Trail, adding a sidewalk to both sides of the roadway, cleaning drainage pipes where needed, and modifying the median opening to allow only left turns at Pacific Avenue / Williams Street.  

Construction activities and lane closures will occur during daytime and nighttime hours. Access to driveways and side streets will be maintained during construction.

The $13 million project is expected to finish in the summer of 2018.
