About

On June 17, 2019, the Florida Department of Transportation closed Big Bend Road (CR 672) just west of Wyandotte Road.

This closure was necessary for crews to replace the existing bridge on Big Bend Road between Dickman Road and Wyandotte Road.

This section of roadway is expected to remain closed for approximately four months, weather permitting.

During this closure, motorists are being detoured around the work zone using US 41, Apollo Beach Boulevard and Dickman Road.

Access to businesses, including Big Bend Power Station, are being maintained during this closure. Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards are being used to assist motorists traveling through the detour route. Motorists should anticipate heavier than normal volumes of traffic on nearby roads during this closure.

The nearly $1 million bridge replacement project is expected to finish by the end of the year.
