About

As of June 14, 2023, all work was completed and this project was final-accepted from the contractor.

This project repaved SR 44 between US 19 and NE 10th Ave. in Crystal River.  Additionally, raised medians with dedicated left-turn lanes and mid-block pedestrian crossings were added.  The bike lane widths were increased to 5-feet, an 8-foot sidewalk was added to the north side of the roadway, and the existing sidewalk on the south side was repaired, including filling gaps where there was available right of way.

The signalized intersection was improved at US 19 and SR 44, and a new signal was installed at SR 44 and NE 8th Avenue (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue).

TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPDATE: The new signal at SR 44 and NE 8th Avenue (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue) was put into operation on March 1, 2023.
