Pepper Contracting Services, on behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation is constructing a multi-use trail along Keystone Road and Pinellas County’s Brooker Creek Preserve in Pinellas County. The new trail begins to the east of the Keystone Road and East Lake Road intersection, continue east for approximately three miles towards the Pinellas/Hillsborough County line, turn north through Brooker Creek Preserve for approximately two miles before ending south of the Pinellas/Pasco County line.
A trail crossing is being added across Keystone Road to assist the multi-use trail users to cross the roadway safely. The new crossing will be located just to the east of the Brooker Creek Preserve entrance.
Most of the construction activities on this project are being done during the day however, when necessary lane closures on Keystone Road will be between 8:00 pm and 7:00 am. Access to driveways and side streets are being maintained. Please remain alert for construction workers throughout the work zone.
The $5.5 million multi-use trail project is expected to finish in early 2017, weather permitting. Upon completion, this multi-use trail will be maintained by Pinellas County.
