(10:15 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026) -- US 98 has reopened to thru traffic between CR 54 (Polk / Pasco counties’ line) and Old Lakeland Highway in Pasco County. The highway had been closed since Friday night for around-the-clock work to install a drainage pipe deep below the entire roadway and repair the pavement.

It was expected to be closed until early Monday, but work was completed ahead of schedule to allow the roadway to reopen early.
