Eastbound I-175 Exit Ramp to Dr MLK Jr Street S and 8th Street S Closing Nightly
St. Petersburg, FL – Beginning Sunday, September 28 through Thursday, October 2, the eastbound I-175 exit ramp to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South and 8th Street South will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.
During these temporary ramp closures, motorists will continue eastbound on I-175 and exit the interstate at the 6th Street South exit, turn left onto 6th Street South, then turn left onto 4th Avenue South, and proceed towards 8th Street South and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South.
Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists should expect delays and congestion during this detour.
These closures are part of the I-175 concrete pavement repair project from 16th Street South to 4th Street South in Pinellas County. Construction activities are expected to finish late 2025.
