• Columbus Drive between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue Closing this Weekend
  Tampa, FL – Columbus Drive closing this weekend between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue from 8 p.m., Friday, June 5, to 5 a.m., Monday, June 8, weather permitting.  

  Westbound drivers should detour right onto Nebraska Avenue, left onto Floribraska Avenue, and then left onto Tampa Street to reach Columbus Drive. 

  Eastbound drivers should detour left onto Florida Avenue, right onto Floribraska Avenue, and then right onto Nebraska Avenue to reach Columbus Drive.

  Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers and pedestrians.

  This weekend closure is necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work for the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project. Construction activities are expected to be completed during spring 2027.

• Trapnell Road east of SR 39 Closing Nightly

  Plant City, FL – Nightly closures of Trapnell Road to the east of State Road 39 will occur nightly starting on Thursday, June 4, through Sunday, June 7, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., weather permitting.

  During these nighttime closures, drivers will have to detour around the work zone using Sparkman Road and Jap Tucker Road to access Trapnell Road east of SR 39.

  Drivers may experience traffic delays and congestion on nearby roads as crews perform grinding operations of the new concrete travel lanes at the intersection of SR 39 at Trapnell Road. All travel lanes on SR 39 and Trapnell Road west of the intersection will remain open to traffic during this phase of the project.

  Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.

  This project has replaced the asphalt pavement at the intersection of SR 39 and Trapnell Road with a concrete surface in Hillsborough County.

  Dover, FL - The eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from McIntosh Road will close from 9:30 p.m., Thursday, June 4, to 5:30 a.m., Friday, May June 5, weather permitting.

  Motorists needing to access the interstate will have to proceed south on McIntosh Road, turn left onto US 92 (Hillsborough Avenue), and then turn left onto Branch Forbes Road to enter the interstate using the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

  Drivers should remain alert for construction workers and use caution while traveling through the work zone.

  This closure is part of the I-4 interchange improvements at McIntosh Road (Exit 14) in Hillsborough County.

• Truck detour route for eastbound SR 52 onto southbound SR 589 begins June 4th

  Tractor-trailer drivers wanting to enter southbound SR 589 (Suncoast Parkway) from eastbound SR 52 will be detoured beginning June 4, 2026 due to a closure of the right turn lane to the entrance ramp.

  Non-truck vehicles will be able to make the turn to the entrance ramp from the eastbound right thru lane, but large vehicles will not be able to make the tight turn and will need to take the signed detour route. This around-the-clock closure/detour is expected to be in place into approximately early August 2026.

  DETOUR ROUTE: Large vehicles will be directed to go south on Moon Lake Road, then east on Ridge Road and use the entrance ramp from Ridge Road onto southbound SR 589.

  Odessa -- The Suncoast Trail Trailhead, located at the end of Touchpoint Drive on the north side of SR 54 in Pasco County, is scheduled to be closed beginning Monday, June 22, 2026. The closure is expected to be in place until the end of the project, which is anticipated in summer 2027.

• Westbound Gandy Boulevard entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 to be closed at night

  The entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 from westbound Gandy Boulevard (SR 694) is scheduled to be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday nights (May 26-28) and Sunday through Thursday nights (May 31-June 4), weather permitting.

  DETOUR: Continue west on Gandy Boulevard past the entrance ramp. U-turn at S Frontage Road/Grand Avenue. Go east on Gandy Boulevard to the entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 (stay right at the fork on the ramp where it splits to northbound or southbound I-275).

• Two I-275 ramps are CLOSED at the 54th Avenue N interchange

  St. Petersburg – As of Thursday night, April 9, 2026, two I-275 interchange ramps are now closed for an extended period:

  • Southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N.
  • Westbound 54th Avenue N entrance ramp onto southbound I-275.

  
  The ramps are expected to be closed for reconstruction at least several months (until approximately summer/fall 2026). Detours for each ramp closure are signed to guide drivers as follows:

  • DETOUR for southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N: Continue south on I-275 past Exit 26 and exit at 38th Avenue N (Exit 25). At the bottom of the ramp, turn right and go west on 38th Avenue N, then turn right onto US 19 (34th Street N) and go north to 54th Avenue N.     Detour Map
     
  • DETOUR for westbound 54th Avenue N onto southbound I-275: Continue west on 54th Avenue N past the entrance ramp. Turn left at US 19 (34th Street N) and go south. Turn left onto 38th Avenue N and go east to the entrance ramp onto southbound I-275.     Detour Map

• Closure Continues of Broadway Avenue under US 301

  The Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor has temporarily closed a section of Broadway Avenue under US 301 in Tampa.

  During this ongoing road closure, motorists are having to detour around the work zone using Orient Road, SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), and Falkenburg Road to access Broadway Avenue. This road is expected to reopen by mid-June 2026, weather permitting.

  Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  This road closure is necessary for crews to rebuild a section of Broadway Avenue as part of the repaving of US 301 from Bloomingdale Avenue to SR 574 (Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard) in Hillsborough County.

• SR 575 CLOSED at US 301

  Trilby/Lacoochee – SR 575 is closed on the east side of US 301, as of around 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. The closure is needed to begin construction of a roundabout at the intersection. The closure is expected to be in place until August 2026. SR 575 will remain open to local traffic east of the closure at US 301.

  DETOURS: Drivers can access SR 575 by taking Cummer Road to Bower Road to SR 575. Access will also remain available from SR 50 (Cortez Blvd) by going south on Burwell Road (CR 575) which turns into SR 575 at Lacoochee Clay Sink Road.

  Townsend Road is closed to thru traffic at Jim Jordan Road for construction related to the realignment of US 98.It is expected to reopen in fall 2026.

  Eastbound DETOUR: Turn right and go south on US 98, turn left onto Jim Jordan Road and go north, then turn right onto eastbound Townsend Road.

  Westbound DETOUR: Turn left and go south on Jim Jordan Road, turn right onto northbound US 98, then turn left and go west on Townsend Road.
