• Mondon Hill Road to be closed temporarily at US 98 / SR 50

   Mondon Hill Road is tentatively scheduled to be closed at US 98 / SR 50 from 11 p.m. Wednesday, September 9 to 5 a.m. Monday, September 14 for concrete paving work at the intersection. The detours during the closure are listed below. Motorists are advised to plan a few extra moments into their travel schedules to travel the detour routes.

  Detours:

  • Eastbound SR 50 to northbound Mondon Hill Road – traffic will continue driving east to Raley Road, turn left at Raley Road, make a left at McAllister Street, make a left at Frank Court, make a right at Bertram Road, and make a right onto Mondon Hill Road.
  • Westbound SR 50 to northbound Mondon Hill Road – prior to reaching Mondon Hill Road, traffic will turn right at Raley Road, make a left at McAllister Street, make a left at Frank Court, make a right at Bertram Road, and make a right onto Mondon Hill Road.
  • Northbound Spring Lake Highway to Mondon Hill Road – traffic will turn right onto SR 50, turn left at Raley Road, make a left at McAllister Street, make a left at Frank Court, make a right at Bertram Road, and make a right onto Mondon Hill Road.
  • Southbound Mondon Hill Road to eastbound and westbound SR 50 – traffic will make a left onto Bertram Road, left onto Frank Court, right onto McAllister Street, right onto Raley Road, and then proceed south to SR 50 to go either direction on SR 50.

• Median closure at night on SR 52 at I-75

  The median of SR 52 on the east side of I-75 may be closed between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Sunday, August 23 through Friday, August 28 nights, weather permitting. These closures will prohibit traffic exiting northbound I-75 at Exit 285 from turning west onto SR 52, and eastbound SR 52 traffic from turning left to the northbound I-75 entrance ramp.

  DETOURS

  1. Northbound I-75 Exit 285 to Westbound SR 52: Drivers will turn right onto eastbound SR 52, U-Turn at the Tradeway Boulevard / Pasco Road signalized intersection, then continue west on SR 52.
      
  2. Eastbound SR 52 to Northbound I-75:  Drivers will continue east past the entrance ramp, U-Turn at the Tradeway Boulevard / Pasco Road signalized intersection, go west on SR 52 and use the westbound SR 52 entrance ramp onto northbound I-75.

  Night lane closures: Sunday, August 23 through Thursday, August 27 nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• 298th Avenue N Access from US 19 Closing Temporarily  

  Clearwater, FL – Beginning Monday, August 17, access to 298th Avenue N from northbound US 19 is closing for approximately ten days, weather permitting.

  During this temporary road closure, motorists will have to detour around the work zone using 297th Avenue N, 70th Street N and 69th Street N.

  Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist motorists traveling through the area.  Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  This temporary road closure is for the ongoing improvements to US 19 from SR 580 to the north of CR 95 in Pinellas County.

• Suncoast Trail Trailhead is CLOSED

  Odessa -- The Suncoast Trail Trailhead, located at the end of Touchpoint Drive on the north side of SR 54 in Pasco County, is now closed (began June 23, 2026). The closure is expected to be in place until the end of the project, which is anticipated in summer 2027.

• Truck detour route for eastbound SR 52 onto southbound SR 589 continues

  Tractor-trailer drivers wanting to enter southbound SR 589 (Suncoast Parkway) from eastbound SR 52 are being detoured (began June 4, 2026) due to a closure of the right turn lane to the entrance ramp.

  Non-truck vehicles are able to make the turn to the entrance ramp from the eastbound right thru lane, but large vehicles are not advised to try the tight turn and should take the signed detour route. This around-the-clock closure/detour is expected to be in place into approximately early August 2026.

  DETOUR ROUTE: Large vehicles are directed to go south on Moon Lake Road, then east on Ridge Road and use the entrance ramp from Ridge Road onto southbound SR 589.

• Southbound I-275 Exit 25 to 38th Avenue N to be closed Sunday night, August 30

  The southbound I-275 Exit 25 ramp to 38th Avenue N is scheduled to be closed between 11 p.m. Sunday, August 30 and 5 a.m. Monday, August 31, weather permitting.

  DETOUR: Continue south on I-275 and use Exit 24 to 22nd Avenue N. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right and go west on 22nd Avenue N. Turn right onto US 19 (34th Street N) and go north to 38th Avenue N.

• Two I-275 ramps remain CLOSED at the 54th Avenue N interchange

  St. Petersburg – As of April 9, 2026, two I-275 interchange ramps are closed for an extended period:

  • Southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N.
  • Westbound 54th Avenue N entrance ramp onto southbound I-275.

  
  The ramps are expected to be reopened in late August 2026. Detours for each ramp closure are signed to guide drivers as follows:

  • DETOUR for southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N: Continue south on I-275 past Exit 26 and exit at 38th Avenue N (Exit 25). At the bottom of the ramp, turn right and go west on 38th Avenue N, then turn right onto US 19 (34th Street N) and go north to 54th Avenue N.     Detour Map

• Update: Bayside Boulevard from (SR 586) Curlew Road Now Closing Tuesday Night

  Oldsmar, FL – Beginning the night of Tuesday, July 28, 2026, access to Bayside Boulevard from SR 586 (Curlew Road) will close for 21 days, weather permitting. 

  During this road closure, motorists will have to detour around the work zone using Peppertree Drive, Oakleaf Boulevard and 584 (Tampa Road).

  Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

  This road closure is necessary for crews to perform drainage improvements for the SR 586 (Curlew Road) project from Countryside Boulevard to Tampa Road in Pinellas County.

  Eastbound DETOUR: Turn right and go south on US 98, turn left onto Jim Jordan Road and go north, then turn right onto eastbound Townsend Road.

  Westbound DETOUR: Turn left and go south on Jim Jordan Road, turn right onto northbound US 98, then turn left and go west on Townsend Road.
