• Westbound Gandy Boulevard entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 to be closed the night of May 18th

  The entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 from westbound Gandy Boulevard (SR 694) is scheduled to be closed between 11 p.m. Monday, May 18 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, weather permitting.

  DETOUR: Continue west on Gandy Boulevard past the entrance ramp. U-turn at S Frontage Road/Grand Avenue. Go east on Gandy Boulevard to the entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 (stay right at the fork on the ramp where it splits to northbound or southbound I-275).

• Two I-275 ramps are CLOSED at the 54th Avenue N interchange

  St. Petersburg – As of Thursday night, April 9, 2026, two I-275 interchange ramps are now closed for an extended period:

  • Southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N.
  • Westbound 54th Avenue N entrance ramp onto southbound I-275.

  
  The ramps are expected to be closed for reconstruction at least several months (until approximately summer/fall 2026). Detours for each ramp closure are signed to guide drivers as follows:

  • DETOUR for southbound I-275 Exit 26 ramp to 54th Avenue N: Continue south on I-275 past Exit 26 and exit at 38th Avenue N (Exit 25). At the bottom of the ramp, turn right and go west on 38th Avenue N, then turn right onto US 19 (34th Street N) and go north to 54th Avenue N.     Detour Map

• Southbound I-275 Ramp (Exit 32) to 4th Street North Closing Monday and Tuesday Nights

  St. Petersburg, FL – The southbound I-275 ramp (Exit 32) to 4th Street North is closing for paving on Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

  Motorists will have to detour around the work zone by continuing south on I-275, exiting the interstate using Exit 30, turning left onto Roosevelt Boulevard (SR 686), and then continuing toward 4th Street North.

  Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  The new southbound I-275/Howard Frankland Bridge from Tampa to St. Petersburg project is expected to finish during the summer of 2026.

• Intermittent Nighttime Ramp Closures Continue from Tampa Airport and Spruce Street to SR 60 and NB SR 589

  Tampa, FL – Intermittent nighttime ramp closures from Tampa International Airport, Spruce Street, SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and northbound SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) continue from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday (5/10 – 5/14), weather permitting.

  Motorists exiting Tampa International Airport will have to use the Spruce Street ramp (stay right at the fork), continue eastbound on Spruce Street, turn right onto Westshore Boulevard, turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard, and proceed north toward SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) ramps.

  Motorists traveling westbound on Spruce Street will detour around the work zone using Westshore Boulevard and Kennedy Boulevard to access SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and SR 589 (Veterans Expressway).

  During these nighttime ramp closures of eastbound SR 60 to northbound SR 589 (Veterans Expressway), motorists will have to stay right at the fork, continue toward the Spruce Street ramp (Exit 1B), make a U-turn at the traffic signal (O’Brien Street), and proceed west on Spruce Street toward SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) ramp.   

  Advanced warning signs and message boards continue to assist vehicles traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution when driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  These temporary ramp closures are necessary for crews to perform final paving operations as part of the widening of westbound SR 60 near the Tampa International Airport.

  Tampa, FL – The westbound I-4 entrance ramp from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) will close nightly on Monday, May 11 through Thursday, May 14, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

  Motorists will have to proceed west on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (SR 574), turn left onto 50th Street (SR 583), and then turn right onto Columbus Drive to access the westbound I-4 entrance ramp. 

  Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should exercise caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  These nightly ramp closures are part of the I-4 westbound auxiliary lane project which is adding a travel lane to the interstate between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 5) and 50th Street (Exit 3) in Tampa. For more information on this I-4 project, visit FDOT Tampa Bay.

  Clearwater, FL – On Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, all travel lanes on SR 60 (Courtney Campbell Causeway) will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

  During these closures, westbound traffic on SR 60 (Courtney Campbell Causeway) will have to use SR 580 (Hillsborough Avenue) and US 19 to access in Pinellas County. As an alternate route, drivers may use southbound I-275 (Howard Frankland Bridge), exit the interstate using Exit 31onto Ulmerton Road, then turn right onto US 19, and continue north toward SR 60.

  Eastbound traffic on SR 60 (Courney Campbell Causeway) will have to use CR 611 (Bayside Bridge), turn left onto Ulmerton Road, continue east toward the northbound I-275 entrance ramp onto the Howard Frankland Bridge to access SR 60.

  Advanced warning signs and message boards will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  Tampa, FL – Beginning at 9 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, the Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor will close a section of Broadway Avenue under US 301 in Tampa.

  During this temporary road closure, motorists will have to detour around the work zone using Orient Road, SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), and Falkenburg Road to access Broadway Avenue. This road is expected to reopen within 30 days, weather permitting.

  Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

  This road closure is necessary for crews to rebuild a section of Broadway Avenue as part of the repaving of US 301 from Bloomingdale Avenue to SR 574 (Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard) in Hillsborough County.

  Trilby/Lacoochee – SR 575 is closed on the east side of US 301, as of around 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. The closure is needed to begin construction of a roundabout at the intersection. The closure is expected to be in place until August 2026. SR 575 will remain open to local traffic east of the closure at US 301.

  DETOURS: Drivers can access SR 575 by taking Cummer Road to Bower Road to SR 575. Access will also remain available from SR 50 (Cortez Blvd) by going south on Burwell Road (CR 575) which turns into SR 575 at Lacoochee Clay Sink Road.
