WB I-4 and SB I-275 Lanes through Downtown Tampa Interchange Closing Wednesday Night

Tampa, FL – A temporary nighttime closure of all westbound I-4 and southbound I-275 travel lanes through the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-4/I-275) will occur from 10 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, to 5 am, Thursday, July 9, weather permitting.

Westbound I-4 motorists will have to continue onto the northbound I-275 entrance ramp, proceed toward Exit 46B, turn left onto SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), turn left onto Tampa Street, and re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-275 entrance ramp.

Motorists traveling south on I-275 will have to exit the interstate using Exit 46A, turn right onto Floribraska Avenue, turn left onto Tampa Street, and continue southbound on Tampa Street to re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-275 entrance ramp.

Electronic message boards and signage will assist motorists traveling through the area. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

These temporary interstate lane closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work as part of the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.
