About

The Water Works Sidewalk Gap project will enhance multi-modal connectivity by eliminating sidewalk gaps within the Tampa Heights district along I-275 near Water Works Park.

A sidewalk connection is being added from the west side of Tampa Street (just north of Kay Street) and will run adjacent to the barrier wall along the north side of the I-275 exit ramp connecting to Doyle Carlton Drive. In addition, two pedestrian crosswalks are to be installed across Doyle Carlton Drive to the north and south of I-275, and an asphalt speed table is to be added to Doyle Carlton Drive south of the Water Works Park.

Construction activities will take place during daytime and nighttime hours. Work requiring lane closures will occur at night from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Access to driveways, sidewalks, side streets, and exit ramp to be maintained.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and are reminded to remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

Construction activities are expected to finish summer of 2025.
