About
This project is repaving US 301 from north of Bloomingdale Avenue to south of SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) along the frontage roads (Robert Tolle Road, Foxworth Road, and Garden Vista Drive) in Hillsborough County.
Other improvements include installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Palm River Road, adding sidewalk, performing minor bridge, drainage, and lighting work.
Construction activities will take place during daytime and nighttime hours. Work requiring lane closures including paving operations will occur at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Access to driveways, sidewalks, and side streets to be maintained.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone and should remain alert for construction workers and pedestrians.
This project is expected to finish during early 2027.

Broadway Avenue under US 301 Closing for 30 days
Tampa, FL – Beginning at 9 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, the Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor will close a section of Broadway Avenue under US 301 in Tampa.
During this temporary road closure, motorists will have to detour around the work zone using Orient Road, SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), and Falkenburg Road to access Broadway Avenue. This road is expected to reopen within 30 days, weather permitting.
Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
This road closure is necessary for crews to rebuild a section of Broadway Avenue as part of the repaving of US 301 from Bloomingdale Avenue to SR 574 (Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard) in Hillsborough County.
