About

This project repaved Park Road (SR 553) from Baker Street to north of I-4 in Plant City. 

Additional improvements included the installation of sidewalk, signing, pavement markings, signalization, lighting, and utility adjustments.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers. 

The $4.6 million repaving project is expected to finish summer of 2026.

Closures

  • Eastbound I-4 Ramp to Park Road Closing Thursday Night

    Plant City, FL – The eastbound I-4 ramp (Exit 22) to Park Road will close for maintenance activities from 8 p.m., Thursday, August 27, to 6:30 a.m., Friday, August 28, weather permitting.

    Eastbound I-4 motorists needing to access Park Road will have to exit the interstate using Exit 21, cross Wheeler Street (SR 39A), proceed onto South Frontage Road, and continue east toward Park Road.

    Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through work zones.

    This temporary ramp closure is part of the Park Road (SR 553) repaving project from US 92 (Baker Street) to north of I-4 in Hillsborough County.
