SR 580 (W Hillsborough Avenue) Operational Freight Improvements at SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) and Benjamin Road

The Florida Department of Transportation's Design-Build Firm, Cone & Graham, Inc., is making operational improvements by modifying the turning radii for freight trucks at two locations on SR 580 (W. Hillsborough Avenue) in Hillsborough County: 

Type of modifications and locations:

• at SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) - extension of the 580 (W. Hillsborough Avenue) right turn lane onto SR 589 (Veterans Expressway)
• at Benjamin Road - conversion of the southbound approach to dual left and dual right lane configuration onto 580 (W. Hillsborough Avenue).

Construction activities are expected to complete summer 2026.
