Skyway Fishing Piers 456297-2-52-01, 456297-1-52-01 and, 412596-1-72-04

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, is replacing and rehabilitating the existing Skyway fishing piers in Hillsborough and Manatee counties.

This project will construct a new 1-mile long concrete South Skyway Fishing Pier within Tampa Bay, adjacent to the existing active fishing pier in Manatee County. Access to the new fishing pier will be for pedestrians and emergency vehicles only. Additional improvements include a paved parking area. 

The North Skyway Fishing Pier will be rehabilitated to extend the service life, while maintaining structural integrity, safety, and functionality.

Throughout the duration of this project, access to fishing will be maintained. This project includes the construction of four temporary timber fishing piers along the existing South Skyway Fishing Pier access road located near the south end of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Manatee County. 

The existing South Skyway Fishing Pier and decommissioned portion of North Skyway Fishing Pier will be demolished.
