As of December 3, 2021, all construction activities associated with this widening project have been completed.
The project involves widening approximately four miles of US 301 between SR 674 (Sun City Center Boulevard) and Balm Road in Hillsborough County.
The improvements include widening the roadway to a six-lane divided road with raised medians and paved shoulders, adding a five-foot sidewalk to the west side and a twelve-foot multi-use path to the east side of the roadway and building new stormwater drainage ponds.
The project is expected to finish in late 2021.
