About
This design-build project is building a barrier separating northbound I-75 travel lanes from traffic entering and exiting the interstate between the SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and I-4 exits ramps in Hillsborough County.
A two-lane northbound collector-distributor (CD) roadway is being built east of the current northbound travel lanes within the existing right of way. Traffic entering and exiting northbound I-75 at SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and I-4 will use the new CD roadway.
In addition, the SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd) interchange will be converted to a diverging diamond interchange.
These changes will improve the efficiency and safety of the interstate in this area.
Construction activities are expected to finish during summer of 2025.

Closures
-
SR 574 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) at I-75 Interchange
Lane closures (eastbound): Sunday, April 21 through Thursday, April 25 from 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Lane closures (westbound): Sunday, April 21 through Thursday, April 25 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. -
Northbound I-75 Motorists to Detour at SR 574 (Exit 260A) Tuesday and Wednesday Nights
Tampa, FL - All motorists traveling on northbound I-75 will have to detour off the interstate using SR 574/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 260A) on Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24 from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., weather permitting.
During these nighttime closures, all northbound motorists will exit the interstate using Exit 260A, remain east on SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), turn north onto Mango Road, proceed onto the westbound I-4 entrance ramp, and remain on I-4 toward the entrance ramp to northbound I-75.
Electronic message boards and advance warning signs will assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
These temporary closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work as part of the I-75 ramp configuration and interchange modifications from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) to I-4 in Hillsborough County. Construction activities are expected to finish in 2025.
