I-75 Intelligent Transportation System from Manatee County Line to Big Bend Road 434025-1-52-01

FINAL ACCEPTANCE: FEBRUARY 19, 2020

This design-build project will install Intelligent Transportation System components along I-75 from the Manatee County Line north to Big Bend Road including fiber optic cable, closed-circuit television cameras, and Microwave Vehicle Detection units.

An Intelligent Transportation System, or ITS, uses a variety of devices including electronic roadway signs, (called dynamic message signs) and closed-circuit television cameras to monitor roadway congestion, lane closures, and current weather or emergency conditions and advise motorists of travel times.  

Construction is anticipated to finish in early 2020.
