About
This project has widened SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) between Cobb Road and Buck Hope Road from four lanes to six lanes. The intersection of Cobb Road / W Jefferson Street / SR 50 has been rebuilt in concrete.
Other project improvements include milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, installing curb and gutter, drainage improvements, adding bicycle lanes, and building sidewalks.
PROGRESS UPDATE
All lanes are now open at SR 50 intersection and throughout the SR 50 project area!
July 18, 2025 - After opening the remaining lanes overnight at the SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) / SR 50A (W Jefferson Street) / Cobb Road intersection, all lanes are now open throughout the project area. This includes the additional lanes on SR 50, with 3 thru lanes in each direction from the Cobb Road / Jefferson Street intersection to just west of Buck Hope Road.
Installation of signs, final roadway striping, and various work items remain to complete the project. Motorists are asked to drive within the posted speed limit and remain alert to workers and equipment. Periodic day and night lane closures will continue as needed to complete the construction activities through approximately August 2025.
