About
The Heights Mobility Study is an effort to improve safety and mobility within the Greater Seminole/Tampa Heights neighborhoods, primarily along the Florida Avenue and Tampa Street/Highland Avenue corridor between downtown Tampa and the Hillsborough River. Additionally, the Study team is working with the community to develop a longer-term transportation vision for the neighborhoods.
The Study is based on engaging the communities along the corridor in order to achieve the following objectives:
Identify opportunities for actionable short-term safety and mobility improvements
Develop a clear understanding of existing and future community character and develop mobility strategies to support the community needs.
Build consensus around a Mission, Vision, and Goals for the Florida Avenue and Tampa Street/Highland Avenue corridor moving forward.
Dependent on the community’s vision, future Study phases may include engineering design, and ultimately a project for construction.
