About
The Florida Department of Transportation is replacing the asphalt pavement with a durable concrete surface at US 41 (Tamiami Trail) and Big Bend Road (CR 672) in Hillsborough County.
In addition to the intersection improvements, this project is repaving approximately 8.5 miles of roadway between 15th Avenue and Bullfrog Creek, adding a sidewalk along the west side of US 41, and connecting existing sidewalks on the east side of US 41 from bus stops to nearby intersections.
Access to businesses, side streets, and emergency vehicles to be maintained. Advanced warning signs and message boards are assisting motorists traveling through this area.
Motorists should allow extra travel time as significant traffic delays may occur along this stretch of US 41.
The $25.6 million project is estimated to finish fall of 2024.
*Construction cost includes original construction contract amount plus approved contract changes. It does not include inspection oversite.
