About
This project is adding a lane to southbound and northbound I-75 from south of the Tampa Bypass Canal to south of Fowler Avenue in Hillsborough County.
The bridges over the Tampa Bypass Canal and Harney Road are being widened, and the bridge structures over US 301 are being replaced.
To construct the project, heavy machinery will be used during daytime and nighttime hours and at times, may produce noise, vibration, and require the use of bright lights during nighttime work.
Work requiring lane closures will occur at night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
Construction is estimated to finish in 2029.
This project is being constructed in conjunction with the pavement rehabilitation of I-75 from Broadway Avenue to Fowler Avenue in Tampa (FPN: 443630-2-52-01).

Harney Road Under I-75 Closing Nightly
Tampa, FL – A full road closure of Harney Road under I-75 between US 301 and Williams Road will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday (September 27 -October1, and October 4 – 8), weather permitting.
Message boards and temporary signage will assist drivers traveling through the detour route using US 301 and Williams Road.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.
These nighttime road closures are necessary to allow crews to perform overhead bridge work during the widening of I-75 from the Tampa Bypass Canal to Fowler Avenue in Hillsborough County. For more information on this project, visit FDOT Tampa Bay.
