About

All construction activities associated with this project were completed on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

This project restriped approximately 4.2 miles of roadway by adding sharrows to accommodate an on-street bikeway with signage along Ola Avenue from 7th Avenue to Kirby Street in Tampa.

Other improvements:

  • added speed cushions for traffic calming on Ola Avenue to the south of Osborne Avenue
  • created four-way stop intersections at Ola Avenue and Osborne Avenue, and at Highland Avenue and W. Lambright Street
  • upgraded curb ramps, added marked crosswalks, and intersection lighting at Columbus Drive (rectangular rapid flashing beacons), SR 574 /MLK (traffic signal), Sligh Avenue (pedestrian hybrid beacon)

This project was constructed in conjunction with the Central Avenue new bikeway project from 7th Avenue to Florida Avenue (Project Number 440511-6-52-01).
