The Florida Department of Transportation is making traffic operations and safety improvements to the intersection of SR 616 (Boy Scout Boulevard) at Manhattan Avenue in Tampa.

Improvements include:

  • Adding pedestrian crosswalks on all sides of the intersection with raised traffic separators.
  • Converting the mall driveway from a right-turn-only exit to a full-access intersection.
  • Extending the westbound left-turn lane from Boy Scout Boulevard onto southbound Manhattan Avenue.
  • Adding signage and necessary pavement markings.
  • Providing traffic signal control capabilities to the nearby City of Tampa Fire Station for emergency usage.

Construction activities are taking place during daytime and nighttime hours. Work requiring lane closures are occurring from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Access to driveways, sidewalks, and side streets are being maintained.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

Construction activities are expected to finish during early 2025.
