About

The Florida Department of Transportation is making traffic operations and safety improvements to the intersection of SR 616 (Boy Scout Boulevard) at Manhattan Avenue in Tampa.

Improvements include:
- adding a new traffic signal to the intersection
- adding pedestrian crosswalks with raised traffic separators and pedestrian refuge island
- converting the mall driveway from a right-turn only exit to a full access intersection
- extending the westbound left-turn lane from Boy Scout Boulevard onto southbound Manhattan Avenue
- adding signage and necessary pavement markings
- providing traffic signal pre-emption for nearby Tampa Fire Station

Construction activities will take place during daytime and nighttime hours. Work requiring lane closures will occur at night from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Access to driveways, sidewalks, and side streets to be maintained.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

Construction is anticipated to begin during fall 2024.
