ACTIVE STATE OF EMERGENCY

As Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is also actively monitoring Hurricane Milton.

Interstate lane closures and operations on active construction projects within the projected path of the storm have been suspended.

Contractors on these construction projects are currently securing work sites, clearing traffic control devices
that are not actively being used to direct traffic, and checking drainage systems.

About

This project will repave Fowler Avenue (SR 582) from Bruce B Down Boulevard to Riverhills Drive in Temple Terrace. 

Additional improvements include minor drainage work, new traffic signal at 52nd Street, highway lighting retrofitting, updating ADA features, and performing general safety modification work. 

Construction is anticipated to begin during late 2024.
