Columbus Drive between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue Closing Nightly

Tampa, FL – Columbus Drive will close nightly between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue, Sunday through Thursday (9/21-9/25 and 9/28-10/2), from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., depending on weather.

Westbound drivers should detour right onto Nebraska Avenue, then left onto Floribraska Avenue, and left onto Tampa Street to reach Columbus Drive. 

Eastbound drivers should detour left onto Florida Avenue, then right onto Floribraska Avenue, and right onto Nebraska Avenue to reach Columbus Drive.

Electronic message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers and pedestrians.

These nighttime closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work for the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project. Construction activities are expected to be completed in 2027.
