Columbus Drive between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue Continues Closing Daily
Tampa, FL – A temporary closure of Columbus Drive between Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue will occur daily on Wednesday, September 10, through Friday, September 12, and Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Westbound motorists will detour around the work zone by turning right onto Nebraska Avenue, then left onto Floribraska Avenue, and finally left onto Tampa Street, continuing south on Tampa Street toward Columbus Drive.
Eastbound motorists will detour around the work zone by turning left onto Florida Avenue, then right onto Floribraska Avenue, and finally right onto Nebraska Avenue, continuing south on Nebraska Avenue toward Columbus Drive.
Electronic message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers and pedestrians.
These daytime closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work for the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project. Construction activities are expected to finish in 2027.
