New Traffic Pattern Coming to Kennedy Boulevard between Armenia Avenue and Willow Avenue

Beginning next week, traffic on Kennedy Boulevard will shift to the north, reducing the number of travel lanes in each direction between Armenia Avenue and Willow Avenue in Tampa.

Over the next six months, motorists should expect delays or congestion on Kennedy Boulevard and nearby roads while crews replace the drainage system along the south side of the road.

Access for driveways, sidewalks, side streets, and emergency vehicles to be maintained. Drivers are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.

Earlier this month, construction activities began as part of the State Road 60 (Kennedy Boulevard) repaving project, which covers the area from Woodlynne Avenue to Brevard Avenue, including the section where the traffic shift will occur. The scope of this project includes replacing the roadway’s drainage system, updating curb ramps and sidewalks to ADA standards, and installing new traffic signals at Habana Avenue, Fremont Avenue, and Oregon Avenue. This project is expected to finish in the spring of 2027, weather permitting.
