New Traffic Pattern Coming to SR 39 in Plant City

Plant City, FL – This week, SR 39 traffic will shift west and be reduced to one lane each way between Sparkman Road and Kilgore Road through the Trapnell Road intersection in Plant City.

Over the coming months, drivers may experience traffic delays and congestion on SR 39 as crews build the new northbound concrete roadway. Travel lanes through the intersection (eastbound/westbound Trapnell Road) will remain open to traffic during this phase of construction, along with maintaining driveway and emergency vehicle access.

Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is making improvements to the intersection of SR 39 and Trapnell Road in Hillsborough County. This project is replacing the intersection’s asphalt pavement with a durable concrete surface.
