Next Phase of Construction Shifts Travel Lanes on SR 39 in Plant City
Plant City, FL – During early morning, Thursday, March 5, 2026, traffic on SR 39 will shift to the east side of the road between Sparkman Road and Kilgore Road, and through the intersection of Trapnell Road in Plant City.
Drivers may experience traffic delays and congestion on SR 39 as crews move into the next phase of the project of constructing the new southbound concrete roadway. Travel lanes through the intersection of Trapnell Road will remain open to traffic, including maintaining access for emergency vehicles and residents.
Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely through the work zone.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is making improvements to the intersection of SR 39 and Trapnell Road in Hillsborough County. This project is replacing the intersection’s asphalt pavement with a durable concrete surface.
