Road Closure: SR 39 Closed north of SR 60 for 21 Days in Plant City
As of this morning, County Road 39 to the south of SR 60 has reopened to traffic.
State Road 39 north of SR 60 is now closed for approximately 21 days. Drivers must follow the posted detour routes (Hwy 37, US 92, and Turkey Creek Road) to access SR 39 to the north.
Eastbound and westbound travel lanes on SR 60 remain open through the intersection.
Message boards and signage are in place to assist drivers traveling through the area. Commercial vehicles and trucks should follow the posted detour routes, avoid using local roads as alternate routes, and are reminded to drive safely through the work zone.

SR 39 Closing North of SR 60 for 21 Days in Plant City
Plant City, FL – Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, State Road 39 just north of State Road 60 will close for approximately 21 days, weather permitting.
During the closure, drivers must detour around the work zone using either Turkey Creek Road or County Line Road. Travel lanes on eastbound and westbound SR 60, along with CR 39 to the south of the intersection, will remain open to traffic during this phase of construction.
Message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Commercial vehicles and trucks are reminded to follow the posted detour routes, avoid using local roads as alternate routes, and drive safely through the work zone.
Drivers may experience delays and congestion on nearby roads, as crews replace the asphalt pavement with concrete travel lanes on SR 39 north of SR 60. This project also includes resurfacing SR 60 from SR 39 to Clarence Gordon Jr Road and modifying median openings on SR 60 east and west of SR 39. Construction activities are expected to be completed by fall 2026.
