Southbound I-275 from S.R. 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd) to I-4 Closing Wednesday Night

 Tampa, FL – All motorists traveling southbound on I-275 must detour off the interstate via S.R. 574/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 46B) from 10 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, to 5 a.m., Thursday, October 1, weather permitting.

During this detour, southbound motorists will exit I-275 using Exit 46B, turn right onto S.R. 574/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, turn left onto Tampa Street, and re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-275 entrance ramp. Southbound motorists needing to access eastbound I-4 will follow the same route using Tampa Street, turn left onto Scott Street, and re-enter the interstate using the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists should expect delays and congestion during this detour.

This temporary closure is necessary for crews to set up equipment within the work zone as part of the for the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.
