Westbound I-4 Ramp from SR 574 (Dr MLK Jr Blvd) Closing this Weekend
Tampa, FL – Beginning at 11 p.m., Friday, February 20, the Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor, C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., will close the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) in Hillsborough County. This ramp is to reopen before 6 a.m. on Monday, February 23, weather permitting.
During this ramp closure, motorists will have to proceed east on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (SR 574), turn left onto 50th Street (SR 583), and then turn right onto Columbus Drive to access the westbound I-4 entrance ramp.
Electronic message boards and signage will assist drivers traveling through the area. Motorists should exercise caution while driving through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
This ramp closure is part of the I-4 westbound auxiliary lane project that is adding a travel lane to the interstate between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 5) and 50th Street (Exit 3) in Tampa.
