Westbound I-4 through Downtown Tampa Interchange Closing Sunday Night

Tampa, FL – A nighttime interstate closure of all westbound I-4 travel lanes through the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-4/I-275) will occur from 10 p.m. Sunday, July 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 27, weather permitting.

Westbound I-4 motorists will have to continue onto the northbound I-275 entrance ramp, proceed toward Exit 46B, turn left onto SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), turn left onto Tampa Street, continue south on Tampa Street and re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-275 entrance ramp.

Electronic message boards and signage will assist motorists traveling through the area. Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

This temporary closure is necessary for crews to perform maintenance activities as part of the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.
