ACTIVE STATE OF EMERGENCY

As Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is also actively monitoring Hurricane Milton.

Interstate lane closures and operations on active construction projects within the projected path of the storm have been suspended.

Contractors on these construction projects are currently securing work sites, clearing traffic control devices
that are not actively being used to direct traffic, and checking drainage systems.

About

This project will repave SR 586 (Curlew Road) from Bogie Lane to Fisher Road in Pinellas County. This project also includes safety improvements including new pedestrian signals, lighting, and crosswalks at Pinellas CR 1 and Belcher Road, and new sidewalks on the southside of Curlew Road from Birdie Lane to Cardinal Road.

The existing storm sewer pipe within the project limits will also be replaced.

This project is currently in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025.
