The Florida Department of Transportation's Design-Build firm, Cone & Graham, Inc., is installing a new pedestrian mid-block crosswalk at US 19 and Charlene Lane in Pasco County.

Other safety and operational improvements include roadway resurfacing, highway lighting, and median and sidewalk modifications.

Construction activities are expected to complete early 2026.

What is design-build? Design-build is a method of project delivery in which one entity - the design-build team - works under a single contract with the FDOT (or any owner) to fully design and construct a project.  The contract work covers from initial design through construction completion.  This contract type typically allows for faster construction of a project as design and construction can be on-going simultaneously.
