The Florida Department of Transportation's Design-Build firm, Cone & Graham, Inc., is making roadway lighting improvements to SR 694 (Gandy Boulevard) (Causeway Boulevard) from west of 94th Street to Derby Lane in Pinellas County. 

Safety improvements include retrofitting existing roadway lighting fixtures with LED luminaires. 

Construction activities are expected to be complete in spring 2026.

What is design-build? Design-build is a method of project delivery in which one entity - the design-build team - works under a single contract with the FDOT (or any owner) to fully design and construct a project.  The contract work covers from initial design through construction completion.  This contract type typically allows for faster construction of a project as design and construction can be on-going simultaneously.
