CSX Railroad Work Closing Kennedy Blvd at Willow Ave Sunday Night

Beginning at 9 p.m., Sunday, July 7, the Florida Department of Transportation will close Kennedy Boulevard (SR 60) at Willow Avenue in Tampa. This intersection closure is necessary for CSX to perform railroad track repair work.

Kennedy Boulevard at Willow Avenue will remain closed for five days, weather permitting.

Motorists traveling westbound on Kennedy Boulevard will have to turn south onto Hyde Park Avenue, west onto Cleveland Street, north onto Howard Avenue, and proceed north toward Kennedy Boulevard.

Eastbound motorists traveling along Kennedy Boulevard will have to turn south onto Armenia Avenue, east onto Platt Street, north onto Plant Avenue, and proceed north toward Kennedy Boulevard.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will assist motorists traveling through each detour route. Motorists will not be able to cross the CSX railroad tracks and should anticipate heavier traffic volumes on all nearby roads. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
