About

As of July 1, 2026, all construction activities associated with this project have been completed.

This project is repaving ALT US 19 (Palm Harbor Boulevard/Pinellas Avenue) from south of Tampa Road to north of Meres Boulevard in Pinellas County.

In addition to roadway resurfacing, the project includes the installation of raised median islands, sidewalk and drainage upgrades, as well as signal improvements featuring the installation of a full traffic signal at Virginia Avenue.

Safety enhancements are also being added to include mid-block pedestrian crossings featuring Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at Columbia Avenue, Hidden Lake Drive, and Ketch Circle. Mid-block crossings with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs) will be installed to the north of Alderman Road, Brevard Street, Wai Lani Road, and Valley Road.

Construction activities are taking place during both daytime and nighttime hours. Any work requiring detours will occur from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Access to driveways, sidewalks, and side streets are being maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when driving through the work zone and to remain alert for pedestrians and construction workers.

The $19.8 million repaving project is expected to finish during summer 2026.
