ACTIVE STATE OF EMERGENCY

As Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is also actively monitoring Hurricane Milton.

Interstate lane closures and operations on active construction projects within the projected path of the storm have been suspended.

Contractors on these construction projects are currently securing work sites, clearing traffic control devices
that are not actively being used to direct traffic, and checking drainage systems.

The purpose of this project is to provide additional roadway capacity and improve safety on this portion of US 301 in unincorporated Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.

US 301 is a major north-south roadway used for travel through Hillsborough and Pasco counties and provides access to many of the area’s major roadways, including I-4, SR 39, SR 54 and SR 52.

The US 301 corridor is a vital roadway within the Tampa Bay area and serves as an emergency evacuation route.
