About
This project widened and realigned SR 52 from Uradco Place to Fort King Road in eastern Pasco County. All work in the original project contract has been completed.
Tasks were recently added to improve safety and operations -- widening and drainage work is taking place on westbound SR 52 approaching I-75 to construct a low-profile 4-foot-wide concrete separator between the SR 52 thru-lanes and the lane leading to the southbound I-75 entrance ramp. Milling, repaving, and pavement marking will also be done in this area to complete the project. This work is expected to be completed by summer 2024. Also, a development permit - not associated with the project - is installing a traffic signal at Pasco Road.
Original project work:
- Between Uradco Place and Bayou Branch Canal the existing road was widened to a four lane divided roadway.
- East of Bayou Branch Canal, the new alignment of four-lane divided SR 52 has been built south of the former SR 52 (now CR 52) tying into Clinton Avenue.
- Clinton Avenue between CR 579 and Fort King Road has been widened to a four-lane divided road.
Clinton Avenue between Pasadena Avenue and US 301 is now part of the new SR 52.
The section of the former SR 52 between Bayou Branch Canal (west of Mirada Blvd.) and US 301 is now designated CR 52.
