About
This design-build project will widen US 301 (Treiman Blvd.) to a four-lane divided highway with medians, paved shoulders, and sidewalks. The project will add capacity and enhance mobility and safety. The project limits are from north of Marka Drive (south of the US 98/McKethan Road. intersection to just south of Ridge Manor Boulevard (north of SR 50).
Improvements will include roadway widening and reconstruction, new bridge construction, lighting, drainage, signing and pavement markings, and signalization.
One vehicular bridge and a pedestrian bridge will be constructed over the Withlacoochee River. The existing bridge will be converted to northbound traffic, while a new bridge will built for southbound traffic.
A roundabout will be built at the intersection of US 301 and Trilby Road / SR 575. A traffic signal will be added at the US 301 and US 98 intersection.
The contractor is responsible for finalizing the design plans and building the improvements in this design-build contract. The design portion of the contract began in July 2024. Clearing operations began in early January 2025. Major construction activities are anticipated to begin in spring/summer 2025.
