About
The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) contractor, The Middlesex Corporation, is performing repairs along the SR 60 (Courtney Campbell Causeway) trail between the Courtney Campbell Beach and the Ben T. Davis Beach due to damage caused by Hurricane Idalia.
Trail maintenance activities include:
- Asphalt repair work at various locations (including reconstruction of the trail base and repaving of the trail surface).
- Reconstruction of slopes (include resodding and installing new riprap slope protection).
- Guardrail replacement work.
- Replacing sections of concrete curb and sidewalk.
During this project, visitors should expect to find various sections of the trail narrowed or possibly closed to allow repairs to be completed.
Visitors may also encounter construction equipment and vehicles utilizing the trail to access the various repair sites.
The FDOT asks that pedestrians to proceed with caution when entering the project limits and to follow the signage posted along the trail.
