About
This project will widen I-275 by adding two tolled express lanes in each direction from 38th Avenue N to south of Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County. One additional tolled express lane, for a total of two, in each direction of I-275 will also be added from south of Gandy Boulevard to 4th Street N.
Also included with the project are interchange modifications at 38th Avenue N, 54th Avenue N., Gandy Boulevard, and Roosevelt Boulevard. Noise barriers will be constructed along the project from north of 38th Avenue N to Gandy Boulevard.
A 12-foot-wide multi-use path will also be constructed along the north side of SR 688 (Ulmerton Road) from Fountain Parkway N to I-275. This path will connect to the multi-use path that will be constructed next to I-275 with the current Howard Frankland Bridge project.
The roadway and trail improvements will tie into the Gateway Expressway and Howard Frankland Bridge projects that are currently in construction.
Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-summer 2025.
