About
This project will widen I-275 to add two tolled express lanes in each direction from 38th Avenue N to south of Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County. One additional tolled express lane in each direction of I-275 will also be added from south of Gandy Boulevard to 4th Street N.
A 'goes-with' project will simultaneously construct a new multi-use trail within the project limits along Ulmerton Road from Fountain Parkway North to I-275. You can find more information on the multi-use trail project here:

The roadway and trail improvements will tie into the Gateway Expressway and Howard Frankland Bridge reconstruction projects that are currently in construction.
This project is currently in the design phase. Construction is currently anticipated to begin in Summer 2025.
